A run in memory of Chris and Kevin

Today is the tenth anniversary of the murder of two Leeds United fans, Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight, who were killed in Turkey on a trip to watch the team. Ten years later and their two families have still not had justice while prime suspects are free to live their lives in Istanbul

Today’s run is dedicated to Chris and Kevin.

Half of the fundraising done on this challenge goes to Candlelighters, the chosen charity of Leeds Fans Remembrance, set up by the boys’ families in their honour. If you can spare it, please donate something to the cause today by clicking here

What is 1095miles?

A streak running challenge where you run at least three miles a day, EVERY day, for a year - that's right, no days off.

It's also this running blog where you can follow people on the challenge and where and when they ran thanks to some nifty technology from Garmin that tracks them via satellite and shows off a host of other flashy stuff like their heart rates. You can even 'follow' their progress via a little icon that runs around the map at the end of each link.

We also hold the occasional informal run on Tuesday nights in London, meeting at Wellington Arch on Hyde Park Corner for a three-mile trot. Look out for posts of the next run. All ages and abilities welcome, it's a social gathering, not a keep-fit club - although being a bit fitter will be a happy by product.
