So summer is finally well upon us with temperatures reaching almost 30 degrees for the last couple of days.
Its like an oven out there, just in time for me to be trying out an increase in my mileage.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m taking a PT course and one of the first things you learn is that unless an exercise programme increases in intensity, you stop to see the benefits.
After two thirds of a year of running three miles a day, I think I may reached that plateau, so Im increasing my daily mileage on some days to five miles to see how it goes for a while.
The good thing is that it’s also exercising my brain: I could do the three mile routes around our house that I have been running for nine months with my eyes closed and backwards, so working out new routes or combining old ones is giving me another thing to think about and freshening things up a bit.
