Day 199 – Lightcliffe round route

Took my favourite route to Lightcliffe and back to find the path is closed! Not often you find roadworks down a public footpath between fields but there you go :-)

Day 197 – An easy route today

Back at work and taking it easy. My left knee keeps getting sore, most noticable when sitting down, not running! Hope this doesn’t persist.

Day 195 – Back home and I’m shattered!

Up at 4am (3am UK time) and the journey home begins. Car to airport, flight home, car to visit the father in law then car home around 3pm. Feeling very tired I put on my running gear and ran around the park taking along Amos our Yorkie for the first couple of laps. Looking forward to my bed.

Day 194 – Last day in Norway

Last day in Norway before we go home and I’m taken aback by the sheer amount of extra stuff (junk IMHO) that we’re planning on bringing home. Two large checked in cases and 4 pieces of hand luggage. Gonna be interesting at the airport. Took it very easy as for my feet and left knee are a little sore. Out and back along the road with Zack along for fun.

Day 193 – As far as the snow would let me go

Decided to make the most of my time and took Zack up on the forest trail as far as I could get. Turned around not far after 4 miles as the deep snow made it less of a run and more of a trudge and the thought of a twisted ankle made me slow. Back at the house tired and happy :-)

Day 192 – To the top and back again

Enjoying our holiday in Norway, though not as warm as our eldest is in Spain I really love the opportunity to run up into the mountains, the fresh air and gret views. Gonna be sad when we have to go home.

Day 191 – Playing Land Rover

The ‘in-laws’ also have an ex-army Norwegian Series 3 109 inch Land Rover. This beastie is ace! lots of miltary mods and LHD to boot. We fixed the throttle and flushed the brake fluid. Still to do is the speedo cable, some dash lights and a blowing exhaust. The tyres are split due to lack of use so are having to put winter tyres back on for a while. Had my first drive and it was fun to have the controls on the wrong side 😉 Ran late today with Zack out and back on the road – it was icy but taking those bits slowly meant I was OK.

Day 190 – Running with Zack

The ‘in-laws’ have a dog. A large German Shepherd to be exact and he loves to exercise. I took him with me today and we ran 1.5 miles up the forest road before turning back. Two lessons learnt. Zack now knows not to keep stopping and this results in a sharp tug to the lead and my almost falling over. I learnt the this dog has no brakes and on the downhill return he likes to go fast :-)
